Bummed about the heating and cooling convention

Our big annual Heating, Ventilation & A/C convention is not going to be happening this year.

I for one am pretty bummed about it.

My job is superb, with superb pay, however it’s not exactly exciting. Our convention was the one time a year every one of us could really let loose on the business’s nickel. Thanks for nothing, COVID! I was amped up about going back to the City That Never Sleeps, however maybe next year will be better. I remember last year was entirely the most fun I have ever had in one weekend. The HVAC convention was the main reason. During the day there were conferences, talks and product reveals for all manner of peculiar HVAC systems and products. However, after the clock struck five it was time to party. The only complication I had the whole time there was getting clean and sober in time for the first HVAC meeting the next day. When I came back to work I had the entire drive to study all of the printed materials plus specs for HVAC product lines. This way I could act like I had been paying attention. In fact, I went to the HVAC meetings so hungover all I could do was close my eyes and hope the room stopped spinning. All the materials they handed out were so comprehensive that I was able to fake it pretty well. Like I said, I’ve been thinking about past HVAC conventions a lot this year, I assume that is just wishful thinking. There is a virtual HVAC conference, who really cares?
