The big annual HVAC convention

The big annual HVAC convention is not happening this year, and I for one am pretty bummed about it.

This is a good job, with good pay, but it’s not exactly exciting, so the convention was the one time a year we could really cut worse on the company’s nickel.

Thanks for nothing, COVID, I was amped up about going back to the City That Never Sleeps, but maybe next year will be better. Last year was probably the most fun I have ever had in one weekend, and the HVAC convention was the reason for it. During the days there were conferences and talks and product reveals for all manner of different HVAC systems and products, but after the clock struck 4 it was party time. The only problem I had the whole time there was getting clean and sober in time for the first HVAC meeting the next morning. When I came back to work I had the entire flight to study all of the printed materials and specs for HVAC product lines, so I could act like I had been paying attention. In fact, I went to the HVAC meetings so hungover all I could do was close my eyes and try to keep the room from spinning. But the materials they handed out were so comprehensive that I was able to fake it pretty well. Like I said, I’ve been thinking about past HVAC conventions a lot this year, I guess that is just wishful thinking. There is a virtual HVAC conference, but who really cares?
