For the past couple of years, my wifey has been going through menopause.
- While I sympathize with her many symptoms, the moderate flashes and night sweats are the biggest problems… She randomly gets harshly overheated, but her face flushes and she starts to sweat.
She also seems to run at a higher temperature now. Where she once consistently complained of feeling cold and kept turning up the control unit, the opposite is now true; Every one of us used to spend money large heating bills and she never wanted to run the cooling system. Now, she’d rather not turn on the gas furnace. When it’s forty degrees outside and I can practically see my breath inside, she is not cheerful if the heating plan kicks on. I walk around in thick overcoats and often wear my jacket in the house. Even while both of us were in the summer, I need to bundle up. Every one of us can never open the windows and let in some fresh air. The cooling system blasts non stop. She sets the control unit so low that there’s never a relief from the influx of cold cold air. Our monthly electric bills are large. The wear and tear on the cooling system is tremendous. It’s especially bad at night. She likes to lower the temperature setting by a couple of degrees. I pile on the blankets and still shiver. Even in the car, she turns the cooling system up to maximum speed. I sometimes find an excuse to head outside just to moderate up a bit. I am sad for the symptoms of menopause to pass. It has been tough on both of us and directly impacts our budget.
