Some furnaces are better than other furnaces. I am an HVAC technician, and I have had the privilege of seeing the workings of nearly every type of furnace, air conditioner, and air purifier that exists. One thing I have noticed is that there are some furnaces that work a lot better than others. For instance, once when I was working at a customer’s house, he asked me to take a look at his two furnaces and to fix both of them. This man’s house was so big that he had divided it into two sections and both sections were heated by separate furnaces and separate central air conditioners. On one side of this house there was a gas furnace. I personally like gas furnaces, but they do tend to have leaks which can be very dangerous. This customer had a gas furnace that had two leaks in the gas pipes which could cause poisoning. When I finished fixing the gas furnace, I went to the other side of the house which was heated by an electric furnace. Electric furnaces are nice initially, but I have observed over the years of working on HVAC units that electric furnaces cause more problems and are harder to fix than both gas and oil furnaces. Electric furnaces are hard to fix because electrical work can get complicated and it takes special training to be able to fix an electric furnace. Oil furnaces are practical and probably the best among the three main types of furnaces. I have an oil furnace in my own home and I have only needed to fix my furnace once in seven years.
