When we moved down south to start our retirement chapter of life, it was with the idea that the more sun the better. This perspective was forged from enduring 60 plus winters. And these were the type of winters that lasted at least 5 months and many time longer than that. Most of that time we were inside the HVAC comfort of home or work. Neither of us were big into wintertime outdoor activities. In fact, just dealing with all the snow and ice removal was a pain. And it didn’t get any better the more we aged. So we had our sites set on living in the sun for the last decade or so. Once we made the move, the winter was everything we had hoped it would be. And we just loved spending time in the sunroom each day during that first mild winter. In all honesty, it took a bit of getting accustomed to the heat and humidity of summer. That is a fact. But it was a much better trade off. Plus, the HVAC heat pump did such a great job at making our home cooler in order to manage the peak heating hours during the day. Yet, we were kind of bummed out that we couldn’t enjoy the sunroom so much. It was just too hot in there. However, after a bit of research, I found a solution. We had a ductless HVAC unit put in the sunroom. So now we had a completely independent HVAC cooling source for the sunroom. This made it possible to once again enjoy the sunroom even with all the heat.
