The cold AC made my sunburn feel so much better

Last month, some friends and I decided to go to the beach, and we all left before the sun came up, loaded up our car with beverages, food, and our favourite album, and drove to the beach.

We all arrived shortly after 12, and we were so excited that we decided to bypass checking into the hotel and head straight to the beach.

We all had a great time playing in the water, tossing a frisbee, and drinking cocktails, and also just enjoying hours together. I fell asleep in our beach chair after a few too many beers, only to wake up a few moments later with the painful realization that I had forgotten to apply sunscreen. I checked into the hotel and had a shower after being covered with burns. After that, I rubbed aloe on my burns, laid down on the bed, and turned on the air conditioner to the coldest setting it would go. The cool breeze from the air conditioner was so soothing to my sunburned skin that I was almost glad I was sunburned. The relief I felt from the air conditioner allowed me to relax and forget about being burned in the first place. I awoke a few seconds later to our friends returning from the beach, startled at how cold the air conditioner was. After sleeping in the cold air conditioner all evening, I was able to enjoy a full day at the beach the next morning, with sunscreen on, of course. In case I forget to wear sunscreen again, the next time I visit a beach hotel, I’ll make sure the room has a fully operational, efficient air conditioner.
