Let your body adjust to the high temperatures before summer

I hear it all the time.

The newcomers to the area are just blown away by the heat of summer. And to their credit, it does indeed get entirely sizzling boiling here in the summer. That’s something a person can for sure count on. It’ll be hot, humid and there will be the need for heating, ventilation & A/C cooling. Yet people new to the area tend to panic a bit. They are accustomed to seeing summertime hot and cold temperatures in the Springtime. So they start cranking the cooling system to summer time levels. At least the sort of summertime levels they are accustomed to. But that ends up becoming a bit of a vicious circle really. This is because by the time the summer heat does land on us in late May or early June, those folks have temperature control settings that aren’t sustainable. For me, unsustainable temperature control settings are those that result in heating, ventilation & A/C cooling costs that resemble a biweekly automobile payment. And that’s not a nice occurrence. Plus, it makes going outside simply unbearable when you go from 72 degrees inside to near a hundred outside. And that’s no way to live a summer. There is plenty of good time outside of the peak heating hours to care about all that is provided out of doors in this region. The best thing to do is simply acclimatize with the temperature to the heat at the start of Springtime. Then, 81 degrees inside feels entirely good and you can still deal with going outside. Plus, the heating, ventilation & A/C costs are so incredibly more passable and so much more affordable than the alternative. I tell this to the newbies however they rarely listen.
