If there’s one thing that’s important to life, it’s sleep.
After all, there can be no life without sleep at all. I know that when it comes time for me to sleep, I like to make sure that everything is in the right condition for me to get good rest. I make sure that my bedsheets are nice and clean, that I’ve turned off my lights and taken care of everything I need to for the day so that I don’t have anything to worry about at all, and that my thermostat is at the coziest possible temperature for me. Yes, that’s right, I make sure that my thermostat is properly adjusted as part of my nightly routine. That might sound weird to you, but when you think about it, it makes complete and total sense. Have you ever tried to drift off in a room that’s swelteringly hot to the point where you can hardly sit still comfortably? Lying down on top of the covers is an option, yes, but if a draft is present it could end up being more uncomfortable than anything else. The same is true for overly cold environments as well; while you may be able to doze off for a quick nap in a room that’s too cold (something we might’ve all experienced in cold classrooms while growing up or attending university), it’s hardly easy to stay asleep in the slightest. In fact, you’ll probably end up waking up throughout the night. At the end of the day, adjusting your thermostat to the perfect temperature for your needs while getting ready to sleep is the best, and most comfortable, option present. If you have a smart thermostat, you could even do this while already from the comfort of laying in your own bed!
