The teachers were glad because no one wants to teach a slouchy student! Gerry’s grades weren’t all that fabulous in high school, so the HVAC admissions committee had its doubts
Every month, the state offers the certification exam in many different classifications, but the one Gerry was most interested in was the test that would declare him a certified heating and cooling specialist. Even though the HVAC program at the tech school is only about 16 months long, it seemed to Gerry that he had been in school forever. If you count high school, that’s pretty accurate, really. He had been in school since he was five years old, and he was only 19 at the time he was getting ready to take the test. He worked hard in the school, and his HVAC teachers really liked him. They promised to help him find a job if he was able to pass the certification test; the HVAc teachers really had no doubts he would pass, as he was their most diligent student. It was a surprise to them, too, because he almost was not admitted to the HVAC program. The HVAC courses are known to be extra demanding, and the school was very picky about who they let into those courses. The teachers were glad because no one wants to teach a slouchy student! Gerry’s grades weren’t all that fabulous in high school, so the HVAC admissions committee had its doubts. They eventually decided to let him in, which was a very good thing for Gerry. Anyway, Gerry had his choice whether to take the HVAC test online or in person, and even though most people choose the online option, Gerry chose to take the in-person exam at the testing site. He was nervous, but after a few minutes, he gained his confidence and realized all his hard work was paying off because the test seemed easy!
