When I first went on a Wintertide holiday, I thought it looked unusual to see people walking around in Wintertide clothing, when it was only fifty-5 degrees outside. I had to keep from laughing at them. One day, our best friend plus I went to the beach. I wanted to see the waves in winter. All of us had on our shorts plus lightweight sweaters as we ventured down to the ocean. I couldn’t understand why we were being stared at by the locals. I thought it was normal to be at the beach on such a sunny afternoon, even if it was a little on the cool side. I thought about stripping to our bathing suit until one girl who was about our age, approached us. She asked where we were from? When we told him we were from the Northeast, she began to laugh. She said she should have guessed, since we were dressed so strangely in the middle of winter. She said she bet that we didn’t even have the Heating plus A/C system on in our hotel. I just shrugged until she said her parents had the gas furnace on for the past week. They had a hard time when the temperature in the afternoontime was below seventy. But then, they were born plus raised in the deep south. I couldn’t know they needed the gas furnace when it was seventy, but they thought it was unusual we needed air conditioning when it was only eighty. I believe going to the beach in Wintertide did seem kind of unusual to him, but then, we were tourists plus expected to act oddly.
