When everyone came back to the office after the first quarantine, things were vastly different and a little hectic. We have to go through a temperature checkpoint every morning now and that is going to help keep all of the employees safe. We also have indoor air cleaners in every part of the office. On the third floor where I work, there is one air purifier at the front door to the office and another cleaner near the copy room. My desk is close to the copy room, so I can see and hear the air cleaner everyday. Lately, the air cleaner has been working on and off. I know the air cleaner is having problems, because it beeps wherever there is an error message on the screen. The beeping used to occur every once in a while, but now the error messages are occurring more frequently and the machine is constantly beeping every five minutes. I told my boss that we should check on the machine, but he didn’t take me very seriously. I wanted him to call a repair service or the company that brought us the rental, but he just shrugged his shoulders. The guy doesn’t think covid is really a threat so he doesn’t really care if the air purifier works or not. I think that puts everyone in a very dangerous position. If we get sick at work because the air purifier doesn’t work, then we might be able to sue the corporate office for putting us in danger. If the boss thought about that, perhaps he would change his mind about the service request.
