My house has an attached, screened lanai.
- I have taken that room for myself.
My husband gets the backyard shed, I get the lanai. Constantly he is trying to take it from me or put some of his stuff in there. He keeps talking about how nice it would be to keep tools in my lanai. Then he tries leaving his shoes and dirty clothes there. No way is that happening. Recently he menoited putting a hot tub on the lanai. I use the space to work out. I like having a long area to run, jump rope and put down folding mats. A hot tub would totally cut the space. Additionally, that would look so trashy having a hot tub in my screened lanai. I could be in the hot tub and watch our living room TV at the same time. Anyone in my backyard could see me in my swimsuit. My husband is all gung ho because we have a boiler system. It would be easy to hook up piping to the boiler and then use it to heat our hot tub. I know my husband wouldn’t want to hire a HVAC contractor to do the job. I picture bare pipes laying throughout my house and connecting to an ugly hot tub. My husband wouldn’t care if it looked good, as long as it was functional. The icing on the cake is that I don’t even like hot tubs either. We live down south, who needs extra heating? I know I wouldn’t use it. He keeps begging for it but it is not happening.
