The pros and cons of furnace types

I have been looking into getting a furnace but I am not sure what kind to get.

You can purchase a gas, electric or oil option.

They all have their pros and cons. It seems like a gas furnace is the most common type. It is best for homes in the north that experience cold most of the year. You can easily get gas and the cost is typically quite cheap. However, the installation on this heating system is quite difficult and expensive. Gas hookups and a flue system need to be put in. Additionally, if you are not on it with heating maintenance, a gas furnace is a fire hazard. It is easy for a dirty air filter to cause the whole machine to light on fire. Also, when overheated, the heat exchanger can crack and release carbon monoxide. This is an odorless, tasteless and colorless gas that is toxic to inhale. Do I really want to deal with all of that? An electric heater is so much more efficient than a gas model because it doesn’t burn and churn fuel. You also don’t need to worry about purchasing fuel ever. However, the cost of using an electric model is so much higher. Most northerners can’t afford it. An oil furnace burns a hotter flame than the other too. It is significantly more powerful and has a longer lifespan. However, with a gas opinion you are looking at owning an on site oil tank and being dependent on oil deliveries. I don’t really want to worry about going without heat on a snowy day.
