One of the busiest afternoons during the week is Wednesday.
Even though all of us are open for supplier on Wednesdays, it does seem prefer Wednesday is often the busiest afternoon of the week.
Last Wednesday I had 17 jobs on the schedule, including several repairs, several insulation jobs, and a handful of tune-ups. I had several guys tied up to labor in the Heating and Air Conditioning repair shop that afternoon. Before 9 am, 3 of my best employees called in sick. The previous night, all of the employees went out together to celebrate someone’s birthday. Three of the guys that ate tacos from the pizzeria got sick! One of them had gone to the emergency room and was presumed to have food poisoning. The other several guys were at home and in angry shape. I couldn’t say much to the employees, because they are typically entirely trustworthy and dependable. If they were sick, I trust that they entirely can’t come to work. I have seen these guys labor with a headache, sore throat, cough, and they still labor difficult to complete all of the jobs on the bi-weekly schedule. It hurt not having the 3 guys to help us out that afternoon, however the other employees worked difficult to pick up the slack. The two of us all had to labor a couple of extra hours, even though I was proud of the way that my team pulled together to get all of the labor completed. The two of us managed to complete every 1 of the Heating and Air Conditioning repair and replacement jobs and most people had the next several afternoons off at home with their family.
