A smart thermostat isn't for everybody

When all of my friends around me started purchasing different Heating and cooling products because they’re on sale I figured it would probably be wise of me to join them.

  • After all, the HVAC businesses in our local area didn’t have sales very often and so when they did occasionally have a sale it was best to take advantage of it.

I noticed a pattern and all the products that my friends were buying and I saw that they were all purchasing the same thing. That thing was a smart thermostat. They told me all about how it was programmable and how it would connect to the Wi-Fi. I heard endless conversations that sounded the same from so many different people. It is great because you can control your indoor climate from anywhere simply by opening an app on your phone. Well that sounded convenient, and definitely high tech I just wasn’t sure if it was something that I needed. But it really started to pick up and intensity and it seemed like it was becoming a trend and so in order not to feel left out I decided to join everybody else and purchase a smart thermostat. It was really hard for me to take down my old bowel thermostat. I had a history with it and it always works so well for me and I just wasn’t sure if I would like this smart thermostat as much as I liked my old dial thermostat that I was used to. I decided that it would be for the best if I gave it a try and so I have the smart thermostat installed in my home. I can say that it was simple and easy to do myself and I didn’t require any help from an HVAC technician from one of the local heating and cooling businesses. However, after using it for a month I had quickly found out that it was just not for me. Yes, it was high-tech, and yes it was a very nice thing to have but I found myself missing my old dial thermostat. I discovered I didn’t need anything fancy and sometimes I just wanted the simple things. So I ended up selling my smart thermostat and put my old dial thermostat back up.
