Our heating system went on the fritz at one point this past winter

It was pretty difficult getting through this past winter season.

I didn’t expect the temperatures to fall as low as they did at times which went down all the way to negative 20 degrees fahrenheit.

During those times, I was really praying that the heating system wouldn’t die on us. I was especially worried because I didn’t get the normal heating system tune-up in the fall. I guess I was trying to save money since we have been on a very tight budget, but I should have fit the HVAC maintenance in the budget also. I was concerned that I would end up with an emergency service need for the heating system, but fortunately we made it through. I was nervous at certain points. There was a hiccup in the system a few times when it struggled to work, but the issue I guess resolved itself. Then there was this one day that really freaked me out when the heating system went on full crank and I couldn’t get it to quit working! I couldn’t turn it down with the thermostat and I searched online about what to do about this particular issue. I wasn’t able to figure it out though and I was almost ready to call the HVAC company. Finally, I tried shutting off the emergency shut off because we were roasting in the house, it was so overheated. I also was worried about the huge heating expense we inevitably would be facing. I was surprised when later after the house cooled back down, the heating system was working fine again when I turned it back on. I definitely am going to have the whole system looked at when I get the cooling system tune-up in the spring.
